I wrote the other week about how I’ve been busy testing new brownie recipes. There’s (still!) more to come on that later but I’m proud to announce we have settled on a winner. In the coming weeks, at the bakery, we’ll start selling our Chocolate Torte Brownie, a soft and gooey treat with the perfect crackly top. Teresa, who works with us in the office at Violet, described it as “mouthcoaty”, and while that’s not going to be on any billboards anytime soon I quite like it.
The bad news is that this means we have to make room in our cabinet, so our Tahini Halva Brownie is leaving for a while. This brownie is a longtime favourite of customers and staff alike, so decisions like these can be tough but there’s something beautiful about changing things up. Personally I love to go to my favourite bakeries and find a new treat on the counter. Don’t worry, if you’re really an addict I’m including the recipe for the Tahini Halva Brownie below.
